Primannum Honor Society

An Honor Society for First-Year Students

The Primannum Honor Society is a University of Maryland Honor Society which represents two national honor societies, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma. Both of these national honor societies recognize academic excellence during a student's first year in college.

The purpose of these organizations is to:

  • Encourage superior academic achievement among students.
  • Promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of living.
  • Assist women and men in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.

Primannum Honor Society is an invitation only honor society. Only those invited to join in the winter will be initiated in April. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please visit the membership requirement page or contact us at
